David Murray
A policy analyst for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, David Murray is an outspoken opponent of the legalization of medical marijuana.  “Decriminalization of marijuana is not only weak drug policy,” he argues, “it is from a public health perspective a deep mistake.”  A spokesman for the federal government and special assistant to Drug Czar John Walters, Mr. Murray believes that medical marijuana advocacy groups are often smokescreens for groups fighting to legalize recreational marijuana.  He fears that many patients in legitimate need of treatment have become manipulated by these activists.
